I plan to get a new DSLR camera, but I want to save as much money as I can. The Canon XS, Nikon D3000, and Sony A330 are all in the same family and cost about the same amount. But since I do quite a lot of aviation photography, I will also need a 70-300mm lens in addition to the kit one. I know Canon and Nikon have the best image quality, but I can’t pay 0 for the additional lens. So even though it comes third in the camera world, would it still be the smartest move to go with the Sony since it has image stabilization built in and I wouldn’t need to pay for it in the lens? Any insight about how big of a difference IS actually makes would be greatly appreciated.
I’m between Sony A330 (18-55 lens & 55-200, 4GB card) 9
Canon Cybershot sx90 9
Nikon P100 for 9
Nikon P90 9
I’ll probably stay at a fairly basic photography level… just a side interest I want to get into. Any help deciding would be great. I’m just confused if a SLR would be sufficient or should I just spent the extra 0 something for a DSLR
What order would you rate those cameras?
So, Ive been considering getting a DSLR, and my choices have been narrowed down to these four.
Sony A330
Canon XSI
Pentax K-x
Nikon D3000
I’m looking for an "entry level" SLR, but one that I wont grow out of in the near future. I shoot almost all types of subjects, so versatility is a big factor. Lens choice is not as important. What do you recommend, especially if you have used one of these cameras in the past? Thanks!
Hello, I want to buy a DSLR (beginners). I’ve seen some models like sony-a330 & a390, nikon-d5000, canon 500d(T1i) and pentax k-x. price of sony models are suitable for me. nikon and canon have good features but some expensive. i’ve also seen sony alpha nex-5(not a dslr). it has number of good features than some dslr. i am really confused. i surely want to buy a dslr camera which is for the beginners, price is not high and have standard features like live view, 10mp+, good ISO and good image quality. can u help me??
I’d like to get my girlfriend a good entry level dlsr camera. She would mainly use it for lakes, mountains, rivers and animals. Secondarily, she’d would be snapping pictures of family and animals at the zoo.
My choices are;
Sony Alpha A330
Sony Alpha 500L
Canon EOS Rebel XS
Olympus E-620
I am thinking of purchasing one of the newer Sony a330 DSLR cameras, as a beginner/entry level camera for myself.
The package I am looking at comes with two Sony lenses, however, does anyone know if these Sony lenses (18-55 & 55-200mm) can be used on different cameras, eg. Canon, if I wished to upgrade to a better/more expensive camera in the future?
If the lenses aren’t interchangeable with different brands of cameras, is it still worth while getting this Sony DSLR? Or would they have good resale value???
