Getting started with photography?
Hi, I want to learn more about photography. I have been taking amateurish photos for about 6 years with a point and shoot Canon Powershot. I want to buy a DSLR for xmas. After doing a 10 minute research I found this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Nikon-D60-Digital-SLR-Camera-Body-Kit-D-60-1YR-Warranty_W0QQitemZ350295090924QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDigital_Cameras?hash=item518f36e6ec
Can anyone tell me what they think. What lenses shoot I get for entry level photography, and what kinds of manuals should I buy?

The D60 is a cheap SLR for people who are just starting out but I want to point out that it is a discontinued model – the D3000 is it’s successor. You may have problems finding support for it; especially if you purchase it on eBay. Don’t let that necessarily hold you back though – the D60 is a solid camera, and at 10.3 mega pixels (I believe), it will be considerably higher quality than your amateur camera.
As for the lens – what type of photography do you like to do?
I’d like to say that you should NEVER go cheap with a lens. You almost always pay for what you get. A cheap lens will give you a cheap looking shot, no matter what camera body you’re equipped with. Always make sure you have a solid lens.
