Mode Dial & What it Does to Your Camera

In this video Mark talks about the pre-set auto modes that are found on many entry level Dslr camera. What each mode does and why you should move away from them to gain back total control of what your camera does.

I just purchased the Nikon D3100 online from www.cameta.com
The auction I got was a really good deal too! It includes
-The Nikon D3100 camera body w/ the standard 18-55mm lens
-2 Fish eye lens
-16 gigabyte memory card
-memory card wallet
-tripod
-Nikon carrying bag/case
-Screen protectors
-A cleaning kit
and more I think :p
Here’s the exact link I made the purchase from http://www.cameta.com/Nikon-D3100-Digital-SLR-Camera-18-55mm-G-VR-DX-AF-S-Zoom-Lens-61152.cfm
considering the camera with the lens is usually 0+ at Best Buy or any local camera dealership , paying a bit more wouldn’t be that bad since you get all these good extras! Tell me what you guys think. :)

This video is a comparison between a fairly recent entry level DSLR (Canon 550D) and a professional grade full frame Canon camera (5D mark 1). The purpose of this video is to look at the pros and cons as well as some of the similarities and differences between these cameras in an effort to determine which camera is worth getting in this “budget”/entry level price range. Part 2 is at: www.youtube.com

Looking for a cheap but decent digital camera?

After doing a bit of research, I’ve come to the conclusion that an entry-level dslr is way out of my budget, & I definitely still fall under the category of beginner so I don’t think that would be worth it; however I need something better than the standard cheap point and shoot camera. I photograph jewelry a lot so I need one that will actually focus manually (the auto-focus function on my old compact digital camera just made everything blurry). so, does such a camera even exist?? I’m completely willing to look at used/refurbished cameras if that’s the only way I can get a good price

Entry Level DSLR Help!?

I’m 14 and as a late birthday present, my parents decided to get me a DSLR because of my interest in photography. I really didn’t want them to spend too much and I’ve had my eyes stuck on 2 cameras.
The Canon Rebel XS:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CBKJGG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=AHVUXX1NUM5OB Which I will be able to get for 0.

The Fujifilm FinePix S4000: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HO58O8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A29PHU0KPCGV8S Which I can get for 0.

I know most recommend the XS, but what is different about the S4000 other than a non-removable super-zoom lens?

I understand that this is an entry level DSLR and I know that it doesn’t have all the amazing features, and isn’t as great as the nikon d300s or anything like that, but i’ve heard it’s a really good camera. What do you think I should expect from it? any owners with experience?

What kind of DSLR camera should I get?

I am going into a entry level college photography class and I need to get a camera. I am a college student so budget is a main issue. Also, thoughts on getting a refurbished camera would be very appreciated. These are the cameras that I have been looking at:

Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black)

Nikon D3000 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens

Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode

Any information will be helpful, Thanks!
