Help what camera do you think is right.?

How is the video quality on the canon 7d compared to a top consumer camcorder like the VIXIA HF G10. Is it worth it to get the 7d or a top camcorder and a entry level dslr.

Pentax Kx Review

infoSync World reviews the Pentax Kx DSLR. For the full review, visit www.infosyncworld.com The entry-level DSLR market is flooded with hype, but the 12.4-megapixel Pentax Kx blasts all of the marketing shenanigans away with an overall awesome performance. Like the Pentax K2000 and Pentax K-7, the little and big siblings to the new Kx, superb image quality resided at the core of the camera’s existence, whether we shot in JPEG, RAW, or 720p HD video. There’s something magical about Pentax’s APS-C CMOS sensor that brings an untouchable aesthetic to the world of digital imaging, and the Pentax Kx gave the Nikon D5000, Olympus E-620, and Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 respective runs for their money. Check out our hands-on video.

I am beginning an arts program at college in the fall and will have few photography classes, I have always enjoyed photography as a hobby as well, but only owned cheap P&S cameras and played around with friend’s digital slrs.

I only have around 0 to spend on it, so I am looking at used entry-level digital slrs, I need a versatile camera that can fit my class needs, and one that can grow with me as I explore photography more seriously as a hobby. (Until I can afford to upgrade in a few years)

I have been looking at used Nikons online, since I’ve used and liked the brand before, the D40x with a basic lense (18-55) seems like it could be a good fit

What camera’s would you recommend for someone with my budget and needs?
Would a D40x be the best choice? Or because of its age will it be too far behind in technology etc?
I only have experience with Nikon, but would another brand give me more "bang for my buck"?

Any opinions or recommendations are really appreciated!

This is a review of the Dolica 67″ mono pod for Digital and DSLR cameras. This is a great mono pod, and much like the Dolica tripod I reviewed in another video, it works great, at a fantastic price. Definatly worth picking one of these up.

Entry Level Depth of field camera?

I encourage you to not direct me to a wikipedia site/sites showcasing the mathematical formulae and optical properties of DSLR’s and lenses. I have seen them. I find them esoteric and inaccessible. Could a photographer out there recommend an entry level DSLR or compact camera with depth of field control? I am currently under the impression only DSLR’s do this, I’ve never seen a compact do it outside of macro mode. The Sony Alpha NEX-3 and 5 have this ‘background defocus’ mode, should I go for it? Why is it so expensive? The two most sought-after features I think are background defocus effects and HDR. I’m certain a veteran photographer reading this is going to be SO UPSET I’m reducing the entire field to these two features, I’m sorry. I’m ‘generation Y’, and I need a shortcut.

I’m an amateur when it comes to photography, but i want to buy a new camera which can help me take better pictures. I cant decide whether i should go for an entry level DSLR or stick to something portable like Canon powershot s95, because i already have a point and shoot camera. Could you please suggest me some good DSLR cameras for beginners? I would really like to get a good opinion before i make my decision.
I’m willing to learn how to operate it and improve my skills.

Can a Canon EOS 1000D be used for pro use ?

I have a Canon EOS 1000D, i know it a entry level DSLR, but if i were to equipped it with some good lenses would it be worthy of professional use (e.g.use for commercial photography).

I have a Canon 50mm f/1.8 … Canon 60mm f/2.8 USM … and other not so good lenses.

I know it is all down to skill really, but if my skills were good enough, could this camera be a good camera for pro use ?

Thanks

Sam
