1 of 4 weekly webisodes, shutterwars.com This is footage from Day 1 and Day 2 of Shutter Wars Week. Shutter Wars hopes to entertain, inspire and educate the entry-level SLR consumer. This show could give more insight into what goes on behind the scenes of a photo shoot. Viewers can learn some basics and apply them at home. While photography is growing in popularity, viewers will learn that there’s more to it than just point-and-shoot when it comes to going pro. “Shutter Wars” is an American challenge-based reality TV and webisode concept created, produced & directed by DC photographer Armin DeFiesta. Although the pilot consists of two photo challenges and four webisodes, 12 photo challenges and episodes were written to coincide with a full broadcast television season. The concept focuses on professional photography and its target market — entry-level DSLR consumers. Retailers have indicated that suppliers such as Canon, Sony and Nikon report that the entry-level photography market are some of their most profitable segments in the DSLR market space. “Shutter Wars” could attract viewership from photographers and non-photographers alike, inspiring DSLR owners to gain more technical knowledge and take their personal creativity to the next level. The series would be about more than just photographers participating in photo challenges, it could about discovering that the real competition is themselves. Nikon D5100 or Rebel T2i (550D)?

Hey everybody. I have a kind of specific question about these cameras.
I have been looking into buying a dslr this summer, and these two seem suited to my needs: the upper- end of entry-level bodies.
I actually am leaning towards the Canon because of the superb video mode, but my only dilemma is this:
My dad has this wonderful Nikon FA film camera that I use occasionally, and it has a few lenses with it, including the (manual focus of course) 50mm f/1.8. Since Nikon has backwards compatibility, I would be able to use it with the D5100, which is awesome. The other option would be to buy the Canon and eventually the Canon version of the 50mm f/1.8.
So do you have any advice on whether I should buy the T2i or the D5100?
Thanks!
Sorry for the length…

Nikon D5100 16MP DSLR Review

hubpages.com The Nikon D5100 16mp DSLR Camera is very nice and comes with the 18-55mm VR kit. The D5100 has 1080p HD recording capabilities also. The camera has 11 autofocus points in live view. The video mode also has auto focus points. The camera shutter speed is 4 frames per second, fps. For this Nikon D5100 DSLR Review, I will try to be brief. There are 7 effects you can choose from built into the camera to alter your pictures. There’s even a built-in time lapse feature. The camera and video works great in low light conditions. The camera has a built in microphone or you can attach an microphone into the 3.5mm jack. In the video mode, the Nikon D5100 offers you the choice of 24fps, 25fps or 30fps. There are only a few manual video recording options. The D5100 is well above an entry level dslr camera. new dslr ??????????????????????????????????

I have an entry level DSLR (Canon EOS 1000D), but i am considering an upgrade to a EOS 7D.

I know a DSLR is a DSLR, and an lens upgrade would be better, but i dont like the idea of doing photography for clients and only having a Amatuer 1000D.

I am considering saving up about £1000 and buying a new, more advanced DSLR, i would ideally like to get a full frame camera like the 5D, but the expense of the lenses put me off.

I know many of you will say it’ll be wiser to get a new lens and keep my 1000D, but is a 1000D really that suitable for a growing photographer.
I travel to different parts of the UK, and travel to france quite abit to take Photographs, and i dont think a amatuer camera is suitable for my growing level of photography.

So. What do you think .. Should i get a Canon eos 7d, keep my 1000D and get some new lenses, or save abit more and get a second hand 5D ??
